Setting An RSVP Date

Posted on Friday 11 April 2008

What is the appropriate date to set for your RSVP deadline?

This will usually be controlled by your caterer. When you sign your contract with the caterer, they will give you a date that they need a final count by. It is recommended that you set your RSVP date at least a week prior to the caterer’s deadline so that you have time to contact guests who failed to RSVP on time.  If you do not have a caterer’s deadline to work with, standard RSVP deadlines are usually 2-3 weeks before the event.

Each situation is unique, and as the times change, the acceptable “rules of etiquette” are changing as well! If you have a particular question you would like answered, we would love to help! Send your question to crystal@theinvitationatelier.com. If we don’t already know the answer, we will do our best to find it for you.
